Prayers and Encouragement for the TEAM

Hello All!
If you are like me, you probably check this blog (and facebook) regularly throughout the day for updates on the team serving in the Bronx. It has been amazing to see from the pictures just a little bit of what God is doing through them as they serve in different locations and have some fun along the way. Derek says that it has been difficult to take pictures of many of the places they have been because they didn't particularly want to have a camera out. I know there will be many stories coming out of this trip and I trust that you are just as eager as I am to hear how God is moving in the hearts of our students. In the mean time, I thought it would be awesome if you could share your prayers and notes of encouragement with the team here on the blog. They are officially half way through their trip (I'm not counting down or anything..ha ha) so give them a BOOST of our love and support as they finish out the week.

Hi Guys!
From the pictures it looks like you guys are having a really great time. I am eager to hear about your "poverty" experience today. I think it is awesome that you are getting just a taste of what an average person's life in the Bronx might be like. You have a front row seat to a place where there is GREAT need, but we serve such a GREAT God. You are seeing just how real the gospel can be in people's lives. I pray that this opportunity to serve others really changes your hearts...

I pray for you as Paul prayed for the Ephesians:

"I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen." Eph 3:16-21

Hello Samantha and the team,

I too get online during the day (working hours don't say anything) to see if there is any new post on the blog. Dad and I are continuing to pray each day for you and the team. It is so exciting to see a pic of you working and serving God. You have such a large heart and I am so glad you are sharing God's love in NY. Please remember to journal durting this time, so that you will never forget how God used YOU as a vessel in His kingdom, even in the streets of poverty there in the Bronx. We love and miss you. Hey team! I am praying night and day for all of you. I also specifically pray for many - of course my son Adam and my c-group guys. I know that God is doing amazing things through you all. I CAN'T WAIT TO HEAR ABOUT IT!!!!!! May God give you all strength and awareness in abundance. I am praying for miracles!

Kendall and the team

This morning I was reading Pauls letter to the Colossians

"And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please Him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to His glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light." Colossians 1:10-12

Today I pray for strength and endurance for you as you do the work of Him who sent you, that your knowledge of your God would increase, that you will see the people you encounter and serve through His eyes, that you will develop a love for them that could come only from Him, and that you will know that the work that you are doing in the Bronx is pleasing to Him.

Honey, daddy and I are so proud of you and we can't wait to hear what you have learned about your Lord and yourself this week.

Each one of you is special and we care for you all! Can't wait to hear about your experiences -- I have been praying throughout each day and checking this blog often!

TODAY I AM PRAYING that as you all work, pray, and do life together, you develop a special closeness of true fellowship.

The kind of fellowship that overcomes superficiality, (i hear everyone is alive without cell phones-lol) gets past stereotypes (learn to accept one another despite differences) and genuinely love each other with Christ-like love.

Romans 12:9-12 NLT says:
"Don’t just pretend to love others.
Really love them.
Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good.
Love each other with genuine affection,and take delight in honoring each other.
Never be lazy, but work hard and serve the Lord enthusiastically.
Rejoice in our confident hope.
Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying."

We are praying every day for you to experience the Lord is a whole new way! Soak up all you see, hear, and feel, and let Him grow you through all of it.

Hi Jason and the team!!

I just wanted to let you know that I am praying for you, all of you, constantly, day and night!! I know God is using each of you in so many ways!! Keep working for His glory! :) In Isaiah 55:11 the Lord promises that His Word will not return void, check it out: "so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it."

JayJay, we are so, so proud of you! We miss you a lot, but we know that you are having a good time and working hard! We are praying so much for you and love you tons!! Keep the smile on your face! Josh bug wanted me to tell you that he loves you! :)

Oh by the way buddy, we saw you with the Mets hat on... hahaha

From the pictures and blogs, it looks and sounds like you guys are having an amazing time. What a great opportunity you guys are experiencing, serving and playing in New York. You have been in my prayers daily and I can't wait until you guys return to hear your stories.

Praying for you all to serve the Lord today even though you may really be feeling weary right now! Rom. 12: 11 "fervent in spirit" . (fervent= boiling, bubbling up- having plenty of heat to produce adequate, productive energy)
